Ad-aware 2008 This is the best FREE spyware remover, it now runs on all operating systems. This has been tested against PC Tools spyware doctor below. We personally like Ad-aware better. Cons: Not very good for Malware, Trojans or worms, new version is slow. Free version you manually run.

PC Tools Spyware Doctor, you have to pay for this thou ($39.00) Free to scan your computer but free version does not delete or quarantine files. Removes up to 85% of spyware and malware. With immunization on systems are very slow. There is a free version but you must download the Google Pack. Testing the free version now. 1-5-09 Still not sure on this one.. versions differ, hang-ups on smart update

We have been testing a new Malware program, this one is FREE Malwarebyte we will keep you posted. Ran on several machines and it keeps freezing machines, so far I will not recommend this...Latest ran on machine with only 128 m memory. Removed all the malware when you can get it to run

Antivirus programs
McAfee - Very quick to load, catches all virus to date, does not slow down your machine. Catches some spyware but I would not rely on it. The suite is horrible, it takes over your machine.
Norton removes most all virus's but is incredible slow, it's spam and spyware protection does not work very well at all. Uses way to much resources on your machine. The suite does not work well either, however, some of the features with System Works are by far the best tools on the market.
